Nankatsu SC vs Hanawa

Nankatsu vs Hanawa was the fifth and last game for Nankatsu and Hanawa in Group 1 of the Elementary School National Championship in Captain Tsubasa. They needed a victory to advance to the play-off round.

In the 3rd minute of the first half Tsubasa Ozora scored the first goal, assisted by Hajime Taki.

In the 5th minute of the second half Masao Tachibana scored the equalizer assisted by his twin brother Kazuo. During that play Koji Nishio was injured and had to be replaced by Ryo Ishizaki, who made his first appearance in the tournament. Just a couple of minutes after coming into the pitch, Ishizaki scored an own goal, giving the lead to Hanawa.

However, in the 36th minute Tsubasa assisted Taro Misaki for the 2-2, and in the 39th, with just one minute remaining, Ishizaki redeemed himself with a pass that Tsubasa put in the back of the net.

Meiwa vs Hanawa

Meiwa vs Hanawa was the fourth match for Meiwa and Hanawa in Group 1 of the Elementary School National Championship in Captain Tsubasa. This match was not shown in the manga, we only know that Meiwa draw on purpose, making it more difficult for Nankatsu to advance to the play-off round.

Meiwa vs Nankatsu SC

Meiwa vs Nankatsu was the inaugural match of the Elementary School National Tournament in Captain Tsubasa, and the first game for Nankatsu in Group 1. Genzo Wakabayashi was injured, so Yuzo Morisaki was the goalkeeper for Nankatsu.

Both captains, Tsubasa Ozora and Kojiro Hyuga scored five goals a piece, but it was youngster Takeshi Sawada who scored the winning goal for Meiwa in the last minute of the game. It was his second goal of the match. Taro Misaki also scored one goal (and assisted Tsubasa twice).
